Flora - Our Daughter's Guinea Pig
Our little precious Flora,
Our little precious Flora,
You brought us joy and love,
Such a treasured little blessing,
A wondrous gift from above.
The times we spent together,
All the family near,
Will always be remembered,
As special, cherished and dear.
We have your pics and vids,
Your sweet-voiced happy sound,
But ... your presence will be missed,
For you no longer are around.
Three years was not enough,
For the love we sought to share,
With you, with us, our daughter,
In gentle, tender care.
A princess you have been,
A joy to one and all,
A light in life's dark moments,
Though gentle, soft and small.
Health problems can arise,
In life that bring defeat,
We are thankful for the years together,
Your memory always treasured, always sweet.

This poem was composed for my 10 year old daughter. She is gathering pics and things for a special folder to honor her pet Guinea Pig's memory ... I also wanted to add something to it - she asked me to post this poem on my blog.
What a lovely poem. I'm so sorry to hear about Flora :(
Hugs,
Rach
Beautiful poem.
For one horrible moment, I thought it was referring to your daughter. Delighted that is not the case!
Awww..what a sweet poem. Sorry about Flora.
I'm sorry about Flora. When I saw the photo, I knew what was coming and felt a pang for your daughter. I cried buckets when Chop-Chop, my parakete, crossed the rainbow bridge when I was a child. Your poem is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks you all for your comments. They were/are comforting to my daughter and us all.
What a moving poem.
