Oklahoma 1929 - 1940

My Grandpa & Dad - Oklahoma 1929

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yes, my late father would have turned a ripe old 83 years old today, July 3, 2012.

A story I am developing will focus on family life back in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression era of 1929-1940.

The long, hard hours of labor, family loyalties and life perspectives that grew from those farming families built the foundation of their progeny’s lives and the mid-twentieth century American work ethic.

How about you… did your relatives come from harsh times and leave you with an incredible drive to push the limits of life and conquer its challenges?
