When will the Past Tense Become Past Tense?

Wars and rumors of wars...

It seems that many great stories can only be told once they have entered the realm of past tense history.

We have Anne Frank's Diary, Zlata's Diary, the resurgence of 12 Years a Slave, and the many other works we can reference, but some topics elude the best seller list until they are far enough removed from daily reality to be palatable for the reader.

Could it be that some real-life events, actions, experiences are too real to absorb through literature?

Working with refugees has clearly shown that some tales can't be told at the current time and must be shelved until the future if ever to be told - they are just too horrendous to recall to memory and deliver by pen and paper to the world masses.

'You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.' Jesus - the Christ

How do you feel aboput this topic?

Do you have projects in the works, planned, considered, or considered related to any of the world’s current crises?
